Samsung Galaxy Fit Affordable Smartphone with Android
Despite being highly successful in the high-end smartphone segment, Samsung has found that tough to beat the likes of Nokia in the mid-range smartphone segment. However, now they are planning to revisit the strategy by launching a number of phones with high-end features. Instead of the in-house Bada operating system, they are expected to feature the Android operating system, which is going to pose a significant threat to the domination of Nokia. The Samsung Galaxy Fit is probably a phone that is at the forefront of this new strategy from the company. It promises to be extremely brilliant in every single department.
The Samsung Galaxy Fit will be providing a touch screen display along with three hardware buttons, which is going to enhance the looks of the phone massively. For a start, the screen is among the best when it comes to technology in this segment due to the fact that it comes with the capacitive technology. Also, it has a screen size of 3.3 inches, which is going to make full use of the capacitive technology in areas like web browsing. The advantages of capacitive technology are that the screen will be able to recognise multiple touches, while the resistive technology cannot. This will allow the user to do actions like pinch to zoom, which would have been otherwise impossible.
The Samsung Galaxy Fit will be providing 160 MB of memory internally, which is in tune with the competition that also offers the same amount of memory more or less. However, they will not be able to compete in the 32 GB memory card support provided by the phone and also the 2 GB complemented memory card. This will allow the phone to reach much father to the minds of prospective buyers, who would have otherwise thought this phone to be a low budget phone. The Samsung Galaxy Fit will be taking care of the need to access this amount of memory by providing a very powerful 600 MHz processor. Despite the specifications of RAM being unavailable at the moment, one can definitely tell that the Samsung Galaxy Fit is going to be an extremely fast phone.
It is notwithstanding the fact that it will be running on the Android 2.2 operating system, which is almost unimaginable in the price range that the Samsung Galaxy Fit is going to be priced in. The Samsung Galaxy Fit will have a five megapixel autofocus camera designed to get the best out of the photographer in you. It will be able to take videos as well due to the presence of video recording option. Despite the secondary camera not being available, one will be extremely satisfied by the presence of options in the camera department of the phone. The Samsung Galaxy Fit is available for just around £ 10 per month, while these contract options will also be extremely advantageous in the way that they will be providing freebies like talk time and text messages. In all, one can expect to spend around eight pounds per month on the Samsung Galaxy Fit.
Android 2.3 update of the Samsung Galaxy S placed on halt
News has surfaced that smartphone developers Samsung have halted the rollout of updates to Google’s Android 2.3 operating system for its latest Vodafone handsets.
The news has come as somewhat of a disappointment to those looking forward to getting their hands on the updated device from Samsung; Vodafone was the first network within the United Kingdom to offer the new version of the Android operating system for Samsung’s incredibly popular smartphone. However it now appears that fans of the device will have to wait a little while longer to sink their teeth into this enticing package.
Vodafone released the following statement about the halt in production: “Due to an issue with the Gingerbread update for the Samsung Galaxy S, its roll out has been temporarily suspended by Google.
“Unfortunately, this means the Vodafone variant is not currently available to download through KIES.”
Many critics have stated that the companies involved are simply attempting to shift the blame for the delay to consumers to one another, instead of putting in earnest efforts to remedy the problem.
“As there are no known performance issues with the Vodafone variant of the device, we are working with Samsung to reinstate the roll out as soon as possible.
“We know this is frustrating for those Vodafone customers who have not yet been able to update their device and are working hard to address the matter with Samsung.” added Vodafone.
There has been speculation that the latest update is fundamentally flawed and has had to go back to the drawing board to improve issues that have arisen concerning the camera application on the device.
Both Vodafone and Samsung pledge that the issue will be resolved as quickly as possible – until then, frustrated customers will simply have to wait for this latest smartphone update to finally surface. Find out more on the situation at dialaphone.co.uk.
